What is Spina Bifida and what does that have to do with making homemade granola for the class cooking project?

Spina Bifida is something our family and many others live with every day.  A diet rich in foliate three months before and 12 weeks into pregnancy is the best prevention method against having a child with Spina Bifida, even in high risk families. 


I am honored and blessed beyond words to have an adult sister who lives a very active life despite her disability.
